This patent relates to a wearable optical device for measuring biometric parameters. It adopts a ring-shaped design, with light sources and light receivers arranged in an arc shape. This arrangement allows the device to cover at least half of the user's wrist, finger, or arm. Light energy passes through or reflects off body tissue and is analyzed to measure biometric parameters.
In conventional wearable devices, measurement errors due to device movement have been a significant challenge. Particularly, it has been difficult to obtain accurate biological information during exercise or in daily life. Additionally, devices that can simultaneously measure multiple biological parameters are limited, which is inconvenient for users. Furthermore, there are few devices that can perform non-invasive measurements, placing a heavy burden on users.
This patent adopts a new design to minimize measurement errors caused by device movement. Specifically, it arranges light sources and light receivers in an arc shape, ensuring that the device covers at least half of the user's wrist, finger, or arm. This arrangement reduces the impact of device movement and enables the acquisition of more accurate data. Additionally, by using multiple optical elements, it is possible to simultaneously measure multiple biological parameters.
