In conventional technology, to increase the signal reading speed from solid-state image sensors, it was necessary to increase the number of column-parallel analog-to-digital converters (AD converters), which resulted in increased power consumption. Especially in compact devices such as smartphones and wearable devices, it has been difficult to perform efficient image processing within limited battery capacity.
In this invention, by using column signal lines connected to multiple pixels and shared AD converters, it achieves low power consumption while improving speed. This reduces the number of AD converters that were previously necessary, enabling high-speed image processing while keeping power consumption low. Especially in compact devices, it enables the realization of high-performance functions within limited space.
