This patent relates to a method for producing self-healing molded products using isoprene-based polymers. It involves molding isoprene-based polymers containing specific structural units and adjusting the ratio of these structural units in the range of 10:90 to 90:10. It is characterized by the use of isoprene-based polymers containing methyl and hydrogenated isoprene-based polymers. Ultimately, molded products with a self-repair rate of 50% or more at room temperature are obtained.
Conventional self-healing polymers relied on special functional groups, making their production complex and costly. Additionally, they often had low self-healing performance and lacked practicality. Furthermore, they functioned only under specific environmental conditions, resulting in low versatility. This created a demand for the development of self-healing polymers that can accommodate a wide range of applications.
This patent provides self-healing polymers that do not rely on special functional groups. By using isoprene-based polymers containing specific structural units and adjusting the ratio of these structural units, the self-healing performance is improved. Additionally, by using isoprene-based polymers containing methyl and hydrogenated isoprene-based polymers, the self-repair rate at room temperature is enhanced. This results in easier manufacturing and reduced costs.
