This patent relates to RF tags for affixing to containers containing liquids, such as beverage bottles. It consists of an IC chip, a loop section, an auxiliary antenna, and a substrate, with the auxiliary antenna designed to match the radio frequency of the inlay. The auxiliary antenna and the inlay are connected via capacitive coupling, enhancing communication characteristics. The substrate is a label sheet for beverage bottles, protecting the functionality of the RF tag.
Conventional RF tags were prone to the effects of moisture and metal, leading to a short communication distance. Particularly when affixed to containers containing liquids, such as beverage bottles, communication performance often significantly decreased. Moreover, it was difficult to read multiple RF tags at once, making efficient data collection challenging. These issues limited the utilization of RF tags and reduced their practicality.
This patent improves communication characteristics by providing an RF tag equipped with a planar antenna. The auxiliary antenna is designed to match the radio frequency of the inlay and has a notch, enabling it to connect to the inlay via capacitive coupling. This allows for the avoidance of influences from moisture and metal and enables the simultaneous reading of multiple RF tags. The substrate is a label sheet for beverage bottles, which protects the functionality of the RF tag.
