This patent presents a method to accurately measure water flow and volume by using a device that easily attaches ultrasonic transceiver elements to the flange parts of fire hydrants or air release valves in water pipes. The ultrasonic transceiver elements can be inserted from the side and are easily removable and replaceable. It requires no water shutoff or large-scale construction, can be installed at low cost on existing pipelines, and ensures long-term stable use with easy maintenance.
Conventional ultrasonic flow meters had issues such as difficult installation, the need to stop water supply during measurement, and challenges in correcting measurement errors. Additionally, long-term stable use was difficult, with high maintenance efforts and costs. Errors due to grease deterioration and part misalignment were common, making water pipe flow management challenging.
The invention enables installation of an ultrasonic flow meter without water shutoff or pipeline disassembly by using a device body clamped between flanges and an ultrasonic transceiver element support inserted from the side. The ultrasonic transceiver element is easily removable and replaceable, preventing errors caused by grease deterioration or part misalignment. This allows long-term stable and accurate flow measurement with simplified maintenance.
